Warmington Village Scenic Run 21st June 2015

The visit to various gardens in the village was preceded by a scenic run through Warwickshire villages and lunch at the Plough Inn in the village of Warmington.  Despite 8 years not much changes.

Fly to the Past - Blenheim Palace

The weather on the day was really nice....when you consider the weather on the days before, and the day after, we were really lucky.
The event was extremely well organised with many officials there to control entry, parking and the mass exodus at the end. The display of classic cars, trucks and military vehicles was most interesting....and not forgetting the hundreds of people who had gone to great lengths to dress in clothing of the 1940's and military uniforms.
The flying displays were superb....the most memorable being the Battle of Britain trio of Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane and the finale of the Eurofighter going through its paces really took your breath away.
The MSCC was represented by seven or eight Morgans from the various Centres from around the Midlands.
On reflection this was one of those memorable Morgan days. Good weather, a super event and good company all round.....a day to remember.

Summer Social - Saturday 20th August 2005

Following the same format as last year, the Summer Social event was held at Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, offering Morgan Club members a full day of sightseeing and/or shopping including free secure car parking at The Stratford Moat House Hotel.

The event included an early evening river cruise which was enjoyed by all on the privately booked river boat. Following the river cruise, there was time for a drink and further socialising before settling down to a superb carvery meal offered by The Moat House Hotel.

The photographs below were taken by Pat Slessenger, who came along with her husband as guests to enjoy a day in Stratford and the river cruise. Click on each photograph to enlarge.

Blenheim Palace - Festival of Flight - 14th August 2005

Europe’s largest commemoration of the 60th anniversary of VJ Day.

The photographs below give only a small flavour of a superb and action packed day at the festival. The invitation for Morgan’s to attend was organised by Oxmog and kindly extended to other Centre’s.

One condition of entry was a need to dress in a 40’s style, which was particularly well supported by the Morgan attendees as you can see from the photograph of the early morning arrivals.

For aviation enthusiasts the displays included, World War 1 dog-fight with the Sopworth Triplane, Nieuport 17, Junkers CL1 and Royal Aircraft Factory SE5a’s; De Havilland DH 89 Dragon Rapide; PBY Catalina Sea Plane; The Grace Spitfire; Supermarine Spitfire 1X; P-51 Mustang; Boeing B17 “Sally B” Flying Fortress; Hughes 300 Solo Helicopter; 1950’s Hawker Hunter Fighter Jet; Hawker Sea Hawk & Sea Fury and of course the ever spectacular Red Arrows in their BAE Hawks.

Other entertainment in the air included the Aerostars Aerobatic Team; RAF Parachute Display Team; the Red Bull Matadors and the “Utterly Butterly” Wing-Walking Display.

Numerous ground displays and the Café de Paris Stage (just behind us) added even more entertainment to satisfy all tastes.

The Morgan’s had a privileged position overlooking the lake allowing us the convenience of staying with our cars in an excellent viewing vantage. A unique opportunity to view so closely such special aircraft.

Many thanks to Oxmog for the organization and invitation to the event.
